Paint Me a Story – “Petunia Pepper’s Picture Day”

Paint Me a Story is our art and literacy program for children ages 2-12. Our guest reader will read a story, and then the children will paint a corresponding piece of pottery. Our guest reader this month is Lori Mooney Fox. Lori is a lifelong Fremont resident. She is a graduate of Ross High and the Ohio Institute of Photography. After college, Lori brought her talent and desire back to Fremont to deliver smiles and heirloom portraits to Sandusky County. She has been working as a professional photographer for 29 years. Lori is the owner and Master Photographer of Luna Studios, 218 Justice St in Fremont. She is also the marketing coordinator at the Chamber of Commerce of Sandusky County. Lori will read a very relatable story, “Petunia Pepper’s Picture Day” by Cathy Breisacher, illustrated by Christian Elden. This story tells of Petunia Pepper’s quest to have the perfect school picture taken. Every year her pictures have been a disaster but this year Petunia has carefully planned to make up for all those horrible past photos. But, will disaster strike Penelope again on picture day? Kids will love hearing this story and learn a very important lesson about outward appearances. After the story is read, the kids will paint a beautiful bisque “Happy Picture Frame” as a joyful keepsake of this event. The cost of this event is $15 (non-refundable) per child. Registration is required by April 20. ACE grants are applicable for this event.
