Paint Me a Story is our art and literacy program for children ages 2-12. Our guest reader will read a story, then the children will paint a corresponding piece of pottery. This month’s PMAS is a very special one as we as we hold our annual fundraiser celebrating Ella the Great Dane’s 7th birthday. Ella is the beautiful and beloved dog of Joni and Paul Hasselbach.
Our guest reader this month is Denise Pfefferle Workman. Denise was born and raised in Fremont and a graduate of Ross High. She received her real estate license in 2016 and works for Polter Real Estate. Denise loves helping buyers and sellers navigate an ever changing real estate market. She is married to Sonny Workman and has 3 step daughters and 5 grandchildren. Denise will be reading her husband, Sonny’s latest book, “Mailman Sonny Puppy in the Window.” Sonny is a local mail carrier and the author of two other books, “Mailman Sonny” and “Mailman Sonny in the Community.”
After the story is read the party will begin as the kids paint a pottery dog and enjoy birthday cupcakes. Birthday Girl Ella will be there to meet and greet all her guests. The cost of this event is $35 (non-refundable), and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Humane Society of Sandusky County. We will also be collecting donations for the Humane Society’s Wish List. After the party each child will take home an adorable Warmies stuffed puppy from Joni’s Boutique.
